TOMORROW’S TECHNOLOGY TODAY.

Fiber Fast Blue Streak

The Future Is Fiber

We’re on a mission to revolutionize the way you do things at home or work with mind-blowing Internet, Video, and Voice services powered by a 100% fiber optic network.

Fiber networks are said to be “futureproof” as they have a higher bandwidth capacity and can easily transmit traditional applications such as Internet, Video and Voice with plenty of capacity left over for other advanced applications in the future.

According to a 2019 study, your home’s proximity to Internet access provided by a fiber optics network boost your home value by an average of $5,437.

2017

With the ever-changing technology and need for faster, more reliable services, Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) and Citizens Connected joined together with the goal of bringing Fiber-Fast broadband to underserved areas throughout the Chippewa Valley. On July 28, 2017, Ntera was officially incorporated. In the fall of 2017, Ntera began construction west of Holcombe extending services from the existing Citizens Connected network.

In January of 2018, Ntera had its first customers with Internet and Video services. By the end of 2018, Ntera’s network became the area’s first 100% fiber optic network and passed over 1,000 homes and businesses in rural Holcombe.

Ntera held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 16, 2018 at the Lions Park in Holcombe.

2019

Voice services became available in mid-2019. Ntera expanded the fiber network along Hwy 27 north of Holcombe and passed an additional 500 homes and businesses.

Ntera received it’s first Public Service Commission Broadband Grant to aid in expanding services to the Birch Creek township.

With COVID-19 changing the way people connected, the Internet became a vital piece of every day lives as work, school and socializing was all done online.
